Dear Prayer Partners,
Esther and I would like to thank you for taking the time to subscribe to our mailing list. We are praying that this will be helpful in getting out our newsletters and updates out more timely, and with out too much trouble.
The Democratic Republic of Congo.
On Sunday the 30th of July 2006, the Congolese people had an opportunity to cast their vote, in presidential elections and also National deputies for parliament. I believe that there are still many outstanding results from polling stations around the country. As far as we know the voting took place with only a few incidences. The results are expected to be announced this Sunday the 20th. The announcement of the results and the reactions to it will be a critical time in the History of this country.
Family News:
Help! We have two crawling babies in the house now! We are constantly on our toes watching the door ways with steps. OK, we are just getting used to them crawling but now they are pulling themselves up on things. I keep telling them to take their time.
Joshua, Cherith and Jordan are trying to make up for the months they were not able to have school while in South Africa. It is not fun to have your friends out on summer break and you have to have school, but they are plugging along never the less.
Passports & visas:
We have four passports in at the immigration office. Joshua & Jordan need their visas transposed to new passports (pray that they will transpose them, and not require us to pay the price of new application $1500.00 each). The twins are waiting on their 5 year work permits ($300.00 each). With the election taking place, not much is being done in these offices.
Ministry:
As a family we are visiting all of our churches in Kinshasa, for the next few months. On the 26th August I am planning to hold a class on “message preparation” for pastors and students of the Bible school. Please pray that we will all become more effective in our preaching and teaching of the gospel.
In Christ,
Robert & Esther Marsh
