THE MARSH TWINS

A DOUBLE BLESSING

Isn't it true, that when you get a new car,  you  suddenly notice that there are so many just like yours.  Well for us it’s twins.  I am amazed at the amount of twins that we see now. Twins have always fascinated me, but I never dreamed that Esther and I would be blessed with our own set one day!.

We were excited when we found out that Esther was expecting, but when her “morning sickness” lasted for the whole day, and on into her 12th week of pregnancy, we decided that it would be a good thing to have an ultrasound done to make sure everything was O.K. The doctor in Kinshasa did the general check up and all was well.

Time for our surprise! We were talking to the doctor (in Lingala, one of the languages spoken in Congo) about our family and that we had four children. He continued with the ultrasound and said “Osali na bana mibale!” (You have two children!), we looked at each other and said no we just got done telling you that we have four children. He replied and said “Awa!” (Here!) you have TWINS he said, pointing to Esther's stomach. Dumfounded Esther and I just looked at each other.  At that time I told Esther that I'd only believe this after a second scan which we had done a couple of weeks after the first.  Yup!  Still TWINS!!!!!!

The time came for us to pack up house and we flew down to South Africa, where all but Joshua were born. Esther was a trooper, taking care of the family and visitors that past our way during that time. The Lord enabled Esther to carry the twins up to 38 weeks, and then we had a planned c-section as the Dr had advised us, as the girls were both still lying transverse.

Our bundles of joy, Chelsea & Chaylee were born by c-section at 6:30am on the 7th November 2005, at Sunward Park Hospital in Boksburg, South Africa.  Chelsea  weighed a nice 2.4kg and Chaylee 3.04kg.   Both were in good health and did not need long stays in an incubator, and were able to come home with Esther.  They are not identical though they do have similarities  We continue to thank the Lord for their good health and how the whole family has adjusted well.

Named after her aunt Tracy Noeleen Named after her Grandmother Gail Yvonne

After the birth of the twins you suddenly realize that the youngest of the family is not the baby any more. Jeremy seems to have adjusted well to not being the baby of the family anymore, and loves to have his chance to hold his sisters.

Our Prayer
Lord help us to teach these girls to Love and obey you and your word the Bible.
